Air Poppers: We recommend our Crimson Jewell kernels for air poppers because they are somewhat larger than black kernels. The smaller black kernels are lighter in weight and may work well in an air popper, but if your air popper is extra forceful they can blow out before they get hot enough to pop. |
Popping With Oil: Oil poppers work well for both Crimson Jewell and Black Jewell popcorn. Whether you are using an electric oil popper, range top popper, or a heavy pan on the stove, start by lightly coating the surface with the oil of your choice. Try using different oils for a little variety in your popcorn flavor! Wait until the oil is extremely hot, and then add enough popcorn to cover the bottom of the container. When the popping has slowed and almost stopped, immediately remove the popcorn from the popper or pan. |
Microwave Poppers: One of the newest ways to pop popcorn is using a microwave popper. Most microwave poppers can be used with or without oil. This popper works best with a higher wattage microwave and is a great way to pop popcorn without using oil. Poppers with the paper disc in the bottom tend to produce the best results. The paper disc has special strips that help the kernels heat very quickly, enhancing the popping capabilities of the kernels. |
